Me … less than a month ago at the Alhambra. I wonder how many people over the centuries sat on this ledge to gaze out over the Albayzin. Adding to my last post, and my images … ‘sunny places,’ these are images taken by my son on his IPhone …

Visiting the inspiring studio of a local artist.

Entry to our friend’s house.

‘Moto,’ our friend’s venerable old cat likes to be comfortable …

Talk of fitness … my son ran every morning 5am miles into the hills above Gualchos to catch the sunrise..
I know of an Alhambra, California, in the U.S. but I need to look at a map to find the Alhambra you were visiting. I enjoyed the pictures. It sounds like a much needed emotional rest for you. Have a lovely time!

Thanks Gwynn. I meant to write more, and should’ve been specific. It’s the Alhambra in Granada, Spain https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alhambra – which the Moors rebuilt. I had trouble formatting this post and must look into updating wordpress.
What’s the Californian Alhambra about?

Hi! Ashen
Typically inspired by your post.
I am considering a further painting exhibition and needed a bit of inspiration.
Your pictures of Alhambra reminded me of a beautiful book I have on “Moorish Architecture- In Andalusia”(Tashen).
Just so breathtakingly beautiful architecture and fittings.
One can just get wholly absorbed by the our ability to create such things.
Seeing you gazing out in your photograph, was calming and
So generous of you to share.
Cheers B

Thank you B. The beauty of Moorish Architecture is truly inspiring. As you write …
‘One can just get wholly absorbed by the our ability to create such things.’
Must look up the book you mention.
I’m happy my son could lift this lovely calm moment from the heat of the day 😉

Thank you. Lindi. The Alhambra is worthwhile adventure. Granada itself is also a beautiful place to hang out, especially the old part. Our time did not allow it this time, and it was seriously hot. Autumn is the ideal time to visit.

I also visited Alhambra this summer. It was a wonderful experience. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been in my entire life. The gardens were something totally different to what I experienced in other places. The writings on the wall were so fulfilling as well.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful experience 🙂
