. short thought on misapprehensions .

Speaking to myself …

Seems that complex emotions

Need mysterious strings of words

Best formed in the deep

To express heart truths

While most of our thoughts

Are not shared with others … they

Fly off all the same …

And if received are

Free to interpretations

And frequent surreal

Misapprehensions

Our own and others’

  1. No, not shared, and the one’s that are, may be modified in mishandled efforts.

  2. Agree. Not easy if it weights on the heart, but it’s often best to let misapprehensions be. The psyche will sort it one way or another. sometimes through dreams.

  3. Dr Jung said: Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves. I believe that one has to laugh at oneself first. Beautiful rhyme, dear Ashen.

    • Thank you, Alaedin. Laughter, yes. I so miss my former Sufi mentor. He spotted misapprehensions and involved us into playful enacting games, so we could process our projections.

And Dr Jung, I so wish the time will come when his ideas are brought in a playful way into every school curriculum.

    Thanks Ashen.

I like your poem, which conjured for me the image of a grumbling, sometimes erupting, volcano, with tunnels reaching endlessly down to who knows what subterranean labyrinthine dynamic interconnections…..which underlie the entire surface of the planet…ejecting lumps of red hot ash, emitting heat and light….. and dense smoke……and finally hissing and cooling into sea.

(Maybe this is to help brace you for my forthcoming sojourn!)

    • Huh, thanks for sharing this powerful evocation of the subterranean process. An apt image of the Spiritus Mundi, which reminds of the vision Yeats shared in his poem ‘The Second Coming,’ though he omitted the cooling sea.

For your sojourn I’ll stock some cool Rose 🙂
