… souls roam and arrange impressions …

let sleep do its work

so the spirit will guide you

and leave helpful dreams

in that rich abode

of our collective being

– the only being –

awake souls roam and arrange

streams of impressions

rebel angels see

the judge slaves under man’s law

… while nature rules all …

in this earthly home

we catch our face in mirrors

that slowly unveil

through rhythms of remembrance

the source of freedom

heeding the heart’s pulse

your hand cascades poetry

and transmits secrets

I really must start to sort my poems …

The left sketch is a possible cover for my first poetry chapbook …

I was recently encouraged when two of my poems were published with Queen Mob’s Teahouse:

And then mentioned once more in a Berfrois magazine article by Joe Linker. Thank you Joe.

  1. Great poem, there are a couple of ideas that leapt out at me: ‘catch our face in mirrors/ that slowly unveil…’ is beautiful, and you finishing stanza is very telling. Thumbs up for the cover idea too – I’d certainly be drawn to that in a bookshop.

That’s a pretty exquisite poem Ashen and I really like the artwork beneath it too.
The phrase that stands out most for me is, “Nature rules all”. Yep….no getting away from that! It’s everything there is, including our mind processes, thoughts, insights, feelings…..all simply more creatures, only living in the habitat called mind.
Yes, and sleeping and dreaming…..brings me right back to the shamanic process I just underwent in KwaZulu Natal just now which I told you about.
    Nice and timely.
    Thanks.

    • Glad you like the poem and images. Yes, nature rules all, am totally convinced. Just wish our systems would come round to that truth. And the theme of dreaming must resonate with your recent amazing experience. See you soon.

    • Thanks Rachel. I’m well, if a bit aimless due to waiting what will evolve with bloody Brexit.
This Taberna with its bags of oddness had the wow factor.
You’ve seen it? How to make it happen? Would be interested, though not alone Two or three adventurous minds are best. Maybe Binah, too?
